Severely Disabled Seniors Would Lose Home Care Under State Proposal
(Source: HealthCanal.com) - Despite claims that proposed state budget cuts to programs that provide in-home care to disabled senior citizens will not affect those with the highest level of need, a new analysis by the UCLA Center for Health Policy Research finds that even severely disabled seniors will experience a total loss of services.

Two Researchers Awarded Potamkin Prize
(Source: American Academy of Neurology) - The American Academy of Neurology (AAN) is awarding its 2010 Potamkin Prize to two researchers for their work in Alzheimer's disease and frontotemporal lobar degeneration (FTLD). Dr. Bruce Miller and Dr. Lennart Mucke, both of the University of California (SF), will receive the Award during the AAN's 62nd Annual Meeting.
